George Schreiner, President and CSO Dr. Schreiner’s career has been grounded in clinical and basic biomedical science, drug development, and corporate strategic development.
Specific experiences encompass the academic, regulatory, clinical, and commercial activities necessary for the successful development of therapeutics. Dr. Schreiner received the MD and PhD degrees from Harvard University. After serving on the medical faculty of Harvard University Medical School and the University Of Washington School Of Medicine, he served as a founding scientist and Vice President of CV Therapeutics. Since then he has held senior management positions at Scios, Johnson&Johnson, and Raven Biotechnologies. He was the founding CEO of Cardero Therapeutics, and currently holds the position of President and CSO. He has been awarded 21 patents and has over 140 scientific publications.
Sundeep Dugar, COO Dr. Dugar was most recently the founder of Advantium Pharma, Vice President at Johnson & Johnson/ Scios Inc. At Scios Inc. he helped build the small molecule drug discovery program. He is currently also the Co-founder of Sphaera Pharma Pte. Ltd. and on the Board of Ternus Pharma.
He has more than 25 years of drug discovery and development experience which also included tenures at Bristol Myers Squibb and Schering-Plough. A co-inventor of Zetia® and Vytorin®, he is the recipient of the National Inventor of the Year Award in 2005, American Chemical Society’s Heroes of Chemistry Award in 2004, New Jersey R&D Council’s Thomas Alva Edison Patent Award in 2002.
He was also a Trustee on the Foundation Board at the University of California Davis and is currently a Senior Research Fellow in the College of Letters and Sciences. Co-author of over 60 publications and presentations and co-inventor in over 80 issued and applied patents.
